Moscow, July 26 — Russia’s Navy is in a state of continuous modernization, with the maritime segment of the nation’s nuclear triad steadily strengthening, President Vladimir Putin stated in his address marking Navy Day.
“The Navy is evolving without pause, and the naval component of Russia’s nuclear deterrent is growing more potent,” Putin said. “Serial production of warships and specialized vessels is ongoing, while the equipping of submarine, surface, coastal, and aviation units with next-generation weapons and technologies is being systematically enhanced.”
The president emphasized that today’s servicemen are not only upholding but also building upon the proud legacy of the Russian fleet. “For Russia—washed by the waters of 13 seas—the Navy is indispensable to national defense, security, and the protection of our legitimate interests across the world’s oceans,” he added.
Putin also highlighted the rising caliber of Russian naval personnel, noting that their professionalism is sharpened both through rigorous training and real combat experience. “Our sailors are mastering the ability to respond swiftly to any shift in strategic or tactical conditions,” he said, underscoring their readiness to meet a wide spectrum of operational challenges.
