Eleven-time LPGA Tour winner Lexi Thompson announced her retirement on Tuesday at the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally at Lancaster Country Club. The reaction to the 29-year-old’s decision to step away has already been overwhelming, even though she will play the rest of the 2024 season. Many of Thompson’s LPGA Tour counterparts, organizations across the golf world and even a few noteworthy fans congratulated Lexi on her successful career as a professional golfer after she shared the news on her Instagram.
