- New Platform to Promote Trade, Investment and Business Partnerships
ISLAMABAD: The formal inauguration of the Pakistan-Africa Economic Council (PAEC) is scheduled to take place on Friday in Islamabad, marking a significant step toward expanding Pakistan’s economic engagement with the rapidly growing markets of Africa.
The newly established council is designed to create new avenues for trade, investment, entrepreneurship and business partnerships between Pakistani enterprises and their counterparts across Africa.
Pakistan’s First Official Africa-Focused Entrepreneurship Platform
The Pakistan-Africa Economic Council has been designated as Pakistan’s first official Africa-focused entrepreneurship platform approved and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
The council will serve as a dedicated platform for connecting Pakistani and international entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders and institutions with viable projects and potential joint ventures in Pakistan and selected African countries.
Tapping Africa’s Expanding Economic Potential
According to a statement issued by the council on Tuesday, Africa is home to a population of approximately 1.59 billion people, representing a vast and increasingly important market for Pakistani businesses.
PAEC believes Pakistan has considerable potential to expand its commercial footprint across the continent by leveraging its industrial capacity, entrepreneurial expertise and investment opportunities.
Linking Pakistani Capacity with African Opportunities
The council aims to bridge the gap between Pakistani capital, production capabilities and business expertise and promising investment and development projects across Africa.
Through stronger institutional and private-sector linkages, PAEC seeks to facilitate practical business partnerships, encourage investment flows and identify opportunities that can contribute to sustainable economic growth on both sides.
The initiative is expected to provide a structured platform for strengthening Pakistan-Africa economic cooperation and opening new avenues for mutually beneficial trade and investment.
