
- Ambassador Han Sungho Visits ISSI with Defence Attaché Colonel Kim Jinwoo; Discussions Focus on Regional Security, Afghanistan and Academic Exchanges
ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Pakistan, H.E. Han Sungho, accompanied by Defence Attaché Colonel Kim Jinwoo, visited the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), where he held discussions with Dr. Amina Khan, Director of the Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East and Africa (CAMEA), and other researchers.
The meeting focused on strengthening research collaboration, promoting institutional partnerships and expanding academic and policy exchanges between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
Both sides exchanged views on ISSI’s research activities and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation between Korean and Pakistani research institutions. The discussions highlighted the importance of sustained intellectual engagement and knowledge-sharing in addressing emerging regional and international challenges.

The participants also discussed key regional developments and evolving security dynamics, with particular attention to the situation in Afghanistan. They underscored the value of dialogue, informed policy research and closer institutional engagement in fostering a deeper understanding of regional issues.
The visit reflected the shared interest of Pakistan and the Republic of Korea in strengthening bilateral ties through academic cooperation, strategic dialogue and closer engagement between their respective research and policy communities.
