- Araghchi Calls on Washington to Ensure Ceasefire Compliance and Halt Israeli Operations in Lebanon
TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that the United States bears full responsibility for ensuring the implementation of the recently reached agreement between Washington and Tehran, including efforts to end Israeli military actions against Lebanon.
According to a statement issued by Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Araghchi made the remarks during telephone conversations with his counterparts in Turkey, Egypt and Iraq.
“Araghchi emphasized the responsibility of the United States in implementing the agreement and stressed the need for a complete end to the aggression of the Zionist regime against Lebanon,” the ministry said.
US-Iran Agreement Set for Formal Signing in Geneva
The United States, Iran and Pakistan, which has played a mediating role, have confirmed that the agreement between Washington and Tehran will be formally signed in Geneva on June 19.
The deal follows months of escalating tensions and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing confrontation and creating a framework for further negotiations.
Nuclear Programme Talks Planned During 60-Day Truce
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that during the 60-day ceasefire period, both sides would hold discussions focused on Tehran’s nuclear programme.
The talks are expected to address long-standing disputes over Iran’s nuclear activities and explore possible diplomatic solutions.
Military Operations to End, Naval Blockade to Be Lifted
Iran announced that the US naval blockade against the country would end from June 15, alongside an immediate and permanent halt to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.
The developments mark a significant diplomatic shift in US-Iran relations, with regional actors closely watching whether the agreement leads to lasting stability across the Middle East.
