
M’DIQ-FNIDEQ, Morocco – In a vibrant ceremony filled with pride and unity, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, presided over a grand reception on Wednesday to mark the 26th anniversary of His accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.
Held in the northern coastal region of M’diq-Fnideq, the event reflected the deep reverence and love of the Moroccan people for their Sovereign, whose reign has been marked by transformative reforms, visionary leadership, and a steadfast commitment to the prosperity and dignity of the nation.
The celebration began with the playing of the national anthem and a 21-gun salute, symbolizing the respect and admiration for His Majesty. The King stood solemnly as the Moroccan flag was saluted, embodying the spirit of unity that binds the nation.
The Sovereign warmly received a host of Moroccan and international dignitaries who extended their heartfelt congratulations and wishes for continued peace and progress under his wise leadership.
Among those honored to meet the King were FIFA President Gianni Infantino and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation Fouzi Lekjaa. Special recognition was also given to the Moroccan women’s national football team, who achieved a historic campaign at the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations. His Majesty, joined by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, posed for an official photograph with the team, highlighting his unwavering support for the advancement of women’s sports in Morocco.
This 26th Throne Day celebration stands as a testament to the unwavering bond between the Moroccan people and their Monarch. It reflects the nation’s pride in the accomplishments achieved under King Mohammed VI—ranging from social and economic development to international diplomacy and cultural renaissance.
