ST. PETERSBURG – On Wednesday morning, infrastructure facilities in the city of Kronshtadt and two districts of St. Petersburg were targeted by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), resulting in several injuries, according to an official statement from the St. Petersburg government.
The statement noted: “Early this morning, infrastructure facilities were attacked in Kronshtadt as well as in St. Petersburg’s Kirovsky and Krasnoselsky districts by UAVs of Ukrainian nationalists. Several facilities sustained damage. Several people were injured. No fatalities have been reported.”
In a related development, Governor Alexander Drozdenko reported via the messaging platform Max that 59 UAVs were shot down over the Leningrad Region in northwestern Russia overnight.
