SEOUL – South Korea’s globally celebrated K-pop industry is set for another landmark moment as legendary project girl group I.O.I prepares to return to the music scene next month, marking the 10th anniversary of its debut and ending a nine-year hiatus.

The highly anticipated reunion highlights the enduring strength of South Korea’s music culture, where innovation, talent, and fan passion continue to shape worldwide entertainment trends.

New Album “I.O.I: Loop” to Launch in May

According to Swing Entertainment, the group will release its third EP, “I.O.I: Loop,” on May 19, followed by a series of promotional activities.

Fans will also receive a special gift ahead of the official launch, with a pre-release track scheduled to be unveiled on May 4, building excitement for one of the most talked-about reunions in K-pop.

Grand Seoul Concert to Celebrate the Comeback

To mark the milestone return, I.O.I will hold a spectacular three-day concert beginning May 29 at the renowned Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul.

The event is expected to draw thousands of fans and showcase South Korea’s world-class concert culture, known for its cutting-edge production, passionate audiences, and unforgettable performances.

Nine Members to Join Promotions

For the upcoming comeback, nine of the original 11 members will participate in album promotions. Members Kang Mi-na and Zhou Jieqiong will not join this round of activities due to individual schedules.

Despite this, excitement remains high as fans welcome the return of one of K-pop’s most beloved groups.

A Group That Helped Define Modern K-Pop

I.O.I was formed through Mnet’s groundbreaking 2016 audition program “Produce 101,” a show that revolutionized the idol selection format and inspired similar programs across Asia.

The group quickly became a sensation with chart-topping hits such as “Very Very Very” and “Downpour,” earning admiration for their talent, charm, and powerful stage presence.

Although the group officially disbanded in January 2017 after a final standalone concert, their popularity never faded.

South Korea Continues to Lead Global Pop Culture

The return of I.O.I is another reminder of South Korea’s remarkable influence on global music and youth culture. Through K-pop, Korean fashion, dance, language, and creativity continue to captivate audiences around the world.
