ABU DHABI: Dr. Omar Habtour Al Derei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, received Tomasz Miśkiewicz, Mufti of the Republic of Poland and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Muslim Religious Union in Poland, at the authority’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was attended by Grzegorz Gawin, along with Ahmed Rashid Saeed Al Neyadi and several officials from both sides.
During the discussions, Al Derei praised the strong and expanding relations between the United Arab Emirates and Poland across multiple sectors, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation on religious, humanitarian and cultural issues.
The two sides also highlighted the need for greater dialogue, coordination and exchange of expertise to promote mutual understanding, peace and coexistence.
Polish Mufti Condemns Iranian Attacks on UAE
Mufti Tomasz Miśkiewicz expressed appreciation for the UAE’s humanitarian vision and its international efforts to promote tolerance, coexistence and stability around the world.
He strongly condemned the recent Iranian attacks targeting civilian and residential facilities in the UAE, describing such actions as a violation of Islamic principles and international law.
The Polish Mufti stated that attacks endangering civilian lives constitute a serious crime against the values of peace, humanity and coexistence upheld by Islam and the international community.
He also praised the UAE’s longstanding humanitarian role in supporting communities worldwide without discrimination and acknowledged the country’s efforts in ensuring security, stability and dignified living conditions.
Praise for UAE Religious and Humanitarian Initiatives
The Mufti further commended the authority’s modern and innovative approach in delivering religious, social and awareness services locally and internationally.
He noted the authority’s success in providing services in multiple languages and through advanced digital platforms that make guidance and support accessible to people at all times.
Miśkiewicz expressed hope that Poland’s Muslim institutions could benefit from the UAE authority’s experience and expertise in promoting moderation, outreach and interfaith understanding.
