The protests of farmers, many of them independent producers called by social networks, have been affecting numerous roads on the main and secondary roads of the country since the early hours of this Tuesday, with total or partial cuts due to the presence of tractors.
Farmers ask for improvements in the countryside and protest against the agricultural policies of the European Union.
Among other issues, they demand the reduction of the requirements of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), compliance with the food chain law – which, among other things, eliminates the so-called ‘sale at a loss’ by farmers -, the maintenance of the tax reduction on agricultural diesel and aid for the drought that Spain is suffering.
Traffic regulation
Both the Civil Guard and the different local police forces are deployed in the affected areas to try to regulate traffic and avoid incidents.
The DGT reports on its official channels about cuts in Toledo, on roads such as the A-42 in Illescas; the A-4 in Madridejos; the A-5 in Calypo Fado, towards Madrid; CM-42 (Viñedos Highway) at the height of Madridejos in both directions.
Also in Granada there are agricultural mobilizations that cut off the A-93 in Húetor Tájar at this time in both directions; in Seville there are complications on the A-4 in Écija; in Murcia on the A-30 in Lo Jurado.
In Guadalajara, access to the A2 in Torija is affected; In Girona there are outages on the N260 in Riudaura, although in Catalonia the information service of the Generalitat reports outages in other areas of Girona, Lérida and central Catalonia and Tarragona.
Without authorization from Government Delegations
However, the protests are starting at this time from multiple points across the country and some of them do not have the authorization of the respective Government Delegations, according to the information consulted by EFE.
For today, Unión de Uniones planned to begin deploying its agenda and will do so in the province of Burgos, in the capital itself and in the towns of Miranda del Ebro, Briviesca, Medina de Pomar and Aranda del Duero.
For their part, the professional agricultural organizations Asaja, COAG and UPA will begin, according to the latest information, tomorrow in Ávila, Salamanca, Ciudad Real and several areas of Huesca; They will continue on the 9th in Zamora, Bilbao and Extremadura.
