BURGENSTOCK, Switzerland — Pakistan and Qatar, serving as mediators between the United States and Iran, have announced the successful conclusion of the first round of high-level negotiations aimed at implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
The talks, held at the Swiss resort of Burgenstock, brought together representatives from Iran, the United States, Pakistan, and Qatar in an effort to advance diplomatic engagement and establish a framework for future discussions.
Constructive Atmosphere and Encouraging Developments
In a joint statement, Pakistan and Qatar said the negotiations were conducted in a “positive and constructive atmosphere,” with both sides making encouraging progress.
“The first high-level round of negotiations under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has concluded in Burgenstock, Switzerland, with the participation of representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the United States of America, and the two mediating parties — the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” the statement said.
The mediators highlighted that the meeting resulted in the creation of a foundation for further technical-level negotiations between the involved parties.
Mediation Efforts Continue for Regional Stability
The latest talks reflect continued diplomatic efforts by Pakistan and Qatar to facilitate dialogue between Washington and Tehran, with the broader aim of reducing tensions and promoting stability through peaceful engagement.
