UAE President Undertakes Landmark Official Visit to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, concluded a significant official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan today at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The visit marked His Highness’s first state visit to Pakistan since assuming the presidency.

The UAE delegation was accorded a formal state welcome upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase. A Pakistan Air Force formation of JF-17 fighter jets provided an aerial escort for the presidential aircraft into Pakistani airspace. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, personally received the distinguished guest. The welcoming party also included several senior members of the federal cabinet.

During the high-level talks held at the Prime Minister’s House, the two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions aimed at reinforcing the historic and fraternal bonds between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. The meetings focused on evaluating the current framework of bilateral cooperation and identifying new opportunities for strategic partnership.

A joint commitment was made to significantly enhance economic collaboration, with particular emphasis on accelerating investments in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure development, information technology, and renewable energy. Both leaders emphasized the considerable potential for growth in bilateral trade and agreed to implement measures to facilitate increased commercial exchange.

The discussions also covered a range of regional and global issues, with both sides reaffirming their alignment on matters of mutual interest and their dedication to maintaining close diplomatic coordination.

In a joint statement, the leaders expressed their satisfaction with the upward trajectory of the bilateral relationship. They reiterated a shared resolve to deepen the strategic partnership, underpinned by a common vision for promoting regional peace, stability, and sustainable economic development.

The successful conclusion of this visit is widely seen as a pivotal moment in Pakistan-UAE relations, setting a definitive course for a more robust and multifaceted partnership in the years to come.
