NEW YORK: The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that US forces carried out another round of military strikes against Iran late on July 18, targeting a range of military facilities as part of ongoing operations directed by President Donald Trump.

In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said the latest strikes were completed at 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time under the direction of the Commander-in-Chief.

“US Central Command (CENTCOM) completed another round of strikes against Iran on July 18 at 11:30 p.m. ET, at the Commander in Chief’s direction,” the statement said.

Military Infrastructure Targeted

According to CENTCOM, the operation marked the eighth consecutive night of US military strikes aimed at reducing Iran’s military capabilities.

The US military said the strikes targeted:

  • Coastal surveillance facilities.
  • Air defense systems.
  • Maritime military capabilities.
  • Missile and drone storage sites.

CENTCOM stated that the operation was intended to further degrade Iran’s ability to conduct military operations and threaten regional security.

IRGC Positions Also Hit

The US military added that American forces also struck positions associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to CENTCOM, the targeted IRGC units were linked to attacks launched against US service members stationed in Jordan on July 17.

The latest operation follows a series of escalating military exchanges between Washington and Tehran, with both sides continuing to carry out retaliatory strikes amid heightened tensions across the Middle East.

The Iranian government had not immediately commented on the latest US military operation or reported any casualties or damage at the time of the announcement.
