- Visit underscores Gulf unity as the UAE reaffirms its commitment to regional peace, stability, and collective security
ISLAMABAD: President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Kuwait on Thursday for an official visit and high-level talks with His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, highlighting the close strategic partnership and enduring brotherly relations between the two Gulf nations.
Sheikh Mohamed was accompanied by a senior delegation of top government officials, reflecting the importance of the visit and the two countries’ shared commitment to strengthening cooperation across political, economic, security, and regional affairs.
The meeting comes at a time of heightened tensions across the Middle East, with Gulf leaders intensifying diplomatic coordination to preserve regional stability and safeguard the security of their nations.
Earlier, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the recent Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain. The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering solidarity with the two Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and expressed full support for all measures aimed at protecting their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the UAE stressed that attacks threatening the security and stability of GCC countries are unacceptable and called for continued efforts to maintain peace and stability throughout the region.
Regional tensions escalated after a fragile ceasefire between Iran and the United States reportedly collapsed, with negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear programme and the security of international energy shipments through the Strait of Hormuz reaching an impasse.
The UAE has consistently advocated dialogue, diplomacy, and regional cooperation as the most effective means of resolving disputes while working closely with its Gulf partners to reinforce collective security and stability.
The visit by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reflects the UAE’s continued leadership in promoting Gulf solidarity and enhancing coordination among regional allies in the face of evolving geopolitical challenges.
