The ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Sweden, Enass Alshahwan, hosted a Ramadan iftar banquet attended by Andreas Norlén, the speaker of the Parliament of Sweden (Riksdag).
The event also saw the presence of the president of the Stockholm City Council, Olle Burell, as well as several officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ambassadors from countries belonging to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Ambassador Alshahwan delivered a speech in which she welcomed the attendees and expressed her wishes for security and peace to prevail across countries around the world.
During the occasion, Speaker Norlén expressed his commitment to promoting dialogue with Islamic countries in order to achieve deeper understanding and strengthen shared elements.
Norlén underlined the significance of keeping dialogue channels open to facilitate mutual understanding. He also extended his wishes for Ramadan to unite humanity in an atmosphere of peace, respect, and friendship.
