- Ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr Marks Formal Presentation of Credentials as Pakistan Seeks Expanded Cooperation in Trade, Technology, and Investment
ISLAMABAD – President Asif Ali Zardari formally received the letters of credence from Ambassador-designate of Italy, Ugo Ciarlatani, and Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Korea, Han Sungho, during an official ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.
The President extended his congratulations to both envoys upon their assumption of diplomatic responsibilities and expressed confidence that their respective tenures would serve to reinforce and deepen Pakistan’s bilateral ties with Italy and the Republic of Korea.
Strategic Priorities: Trade, Investment, and Technological Collaboration
In his remarks, President Zardari underscored the imperative of advancing bilateral cooperation across a diversified portfolio of sectors, with particular emphasis on trade, investment, technology, and sustainable development. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to cultivating mutually beneficial synergies and noted that enhanced economic and commercial engagement would unlock new avenues for joint ventures and knowledge transfer.
The President further highlighted the potential for expanded collaboration in emerging technologies and infrastructure development, areas in which both Italy and the Republic of Korea possess recognized expertise and established global standing.
Diplomatic Engagement and Regional Stability
The President also conveyed his best wishes to the newly appointed ambassadors for a successful diplomatic mission in Pakistan. He expressed hope that their assignments would not only strengthen bilateral friendship and cultural understanding but also contribute to broader regional stability and economic integration.
Both envoys, in turn, affirmed their dedication to working closely with Pakistani authorities to advance shared objectives and deepen the longstanding partnerships between their respective nations and Pakistan.
The credentialing ceremony, conducted in accordance with established diplomatic protocol, reflects Pakistan’s continued emphasis on fostering robust international alliances and enhancing its foreign policy outreach to key partners in Europe and East Asia.
