- Ishaq Dar, Anita Anand Agree to Maintain Close Engagement on Shared Regional and International Concerns
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, during which the two leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional and international situation.
A key focus of the discussion was the recently signed Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. Dar briefed his Canadian counterpart on the key elements of the agreement and highlighted the shared resolve of the three countries to contribute to regional peace, stability and security.
US-Iran Situation Discussed
The two foreign ministers also discussed the evolving situation in the US-Iran context, exchanging perspectives on developments and their potential implications for regional stability.
Dar also drew attention to the situation in Occupied East Jerusalem, including the outcomes and deliberations of the recent Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem held in Jordan.
Dar Appreciates Anand’s Pakistan Visit
During the conversation, Dar appreciated the frequent exchanges between the two sides and thanked Foreign Minister Anita Anand for her recent visit to Pakistan.
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close engagement and regular consultations on issues of mutual interest, including regional peace, security and international developments.
