AMMAN: Jordan’s Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, held a telephone conversation on Monday with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, underscoring Morocco’s constructive and proactive role in advancing regional stability and strengthening Arab cooperation, the Jordan News Agency reported.
During the call, the two ministers reaffirmed their strong commitment to further deepening the longstanding and exemplary relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Kingdom of Morocco. They emphasized expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors in a spirit of solidarity and partnership that reflects Morocco’s consistent support for joint Arab action and mutual interests.
Safadi and Bourita also exchanged views on key regional developments, with particular focus on the war in Gaza and the situation in the occupied West Bank. In this context, Minister Bourita reiterated Morocco’s principled position, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI—Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee—in support of peace, de-escalation, and the protection of Palestinian civilians.
The two ministers stressed the importance of sustaining the ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring full implementation of its provisions, and guaranteeing the continuous and unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance. They also emphasized the need to advance towards the second phase of the truce agreement as a step towards lasting calm.
Linking regional stability to a credible political horizon, the ministers highlighted the necessity of safeguarding the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and called for an end to escalating tensions and unilateral, illegal measures in the West Bank.
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination on bilateral cooperation as well as on regional and international issues of shared concern, reaffirming Morocco’s active diplomatic engagement and its role as a key partner in promoting peace, dialogue, and regional cooperation.
