- Devotional Gatherings Highlight Bay‘a, Gratitude and Community Participation
GUJARAT INDIA : Mawlana Hazar Imam granted two didars to the Jamats of Northern and Eastern Gujarat and Southern Saurashtra, bringing together members of the community in moments marked by devotion, gratitude and collective participation.
During the morning session, the Mukhi of the Ahmedabad Headquarters Jamatkhana submitted bay‘a on behalf of the Jamats of Northern and Eastern Gujarat.
Following the presentation of bay‘a, Hazar Imam was presented with a specially created art installation titled “The Promise: Bay‘a.” The artwork featured hand-on-hand imagery inspired by the Holy Qur’an, symbolising the commitment and spiritual bond represented by bay‘a.
Surrounding the central imagery were tiles bearing the palm prints of young murids, accompanied by personal pledges expressing their commitment to living their bay‘a in their daily lives.
Southern Saurashtra Jamat Presents Bay‘a
The Mukhi of the Junagadh Headquarters Jamatkhana submitted bay‘a on behalf of the Southern Saurashtra Jamat.
The occasion was followed by the presentation of another major community-created artwork, “Blooms of Gratitude,” a large-scale installation featuring more than 10,000 flowers carefully arranged to form the word “Shukr,” symbolising gratitude.
The artwork represented a remarkable collective effort involving thousands of senior citizens and members of the Jamat living with disabilities. Participants across various Jamatkhanas and Learning Resource Centres contributed to the creation of the installation.
Community Participation Reflects Spirit of Gratitude
The two artistic presentations provided a meaningful expression of the community’s spiritual values, highlighting themes of commitment, gratitude, participation and intergenerational engagement.
Through the involvement of young murids, senior citizens and people with disabilities, the initiatives also demonstrated the importance of inclusive community participation and collective expression during the didar gatherings.
