Pakistan, Uzbekistan Reaffirm Close Ties Ahead of SCO Summit

LONDON: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov, discussing matters of mutual interest and preparations for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State meeting in Kyrgyzstan.

During the conversation, the two foreign ministers reaffirmed the close, historic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, underscoring their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The ministers also agreed to meet on the sidelines of the SCO summit to review bilateral relations and advance shared priorities in areas of mutual interest.

The planned meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for the two sides to build on existing cooperation and further enhance the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan within the SCO framework.
