- Ambassadors Honoured for Strengthening Science, Education and Research Cooperation with Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) hosted a farewell reception in honour of outgoing Ambassadors of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to Pakistan, recognizing their contributions to strengthening bilateral relations and scientific cooperation.
COMSTECH Coordinator General Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary praised Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin of Kazakhstan and Ambassador Khazar Nadir Farhadov of Azerbaijan for advancing collaboration in science, technology, higher education, research, innovation and capacity building.
Prof. Choudhary highlighted Ambassador Kistafin’s role in expanding Pakistan-Kazakhstan scientific ties through initiatives including the Global Al-Farabi Forum, Al-Farabi-Iqbal International Forum, Pakistan-Kazakhstan Alumni Forum, COMSTECH-IOFS Fellowships and cooperation in climate-resilient agriculture, artificial intelligence and data security.
He also commended Ambassador Farhadov for supporting stronger cooperation between COMSTECH and Azerbaijani universities and research institutions, particularly in plant sciences, biodiversity, higher education and scientific research.
Both ambassadors were presented Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of their diplomatic services and contributions to COMSTECH.
The reception was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, senior officials, vice chancellors, scientists, academicians and representatives of OIC Member States and friendly countries.
The ambassadors thanked COMSTECH for its friendship and hospitality, expressing confidence that scientific and academic cooperation between Pakistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan would continue to expand.
The event concluded in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual respect, reaffirming COMSTECH’s commitment to advancing science diplomacy, academic exchange and international research cooperation across the Muslim world.
