Belgrade: Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has stated that the decision by the United States to withdraw part of its military presence from Germany reflects a significant turning point in relations between Washington and the European Union.

Speaking as reported by the newspaper Večernje Novosti, Vučić described the move as a strong political signal indicating a growing divergence in strategic interests between the two Western powers.

“This is an important political message that speaks about the relations between the two largest Western powers,” the Serbian leader said, adding that their interests “no longer coincide” and suggesting that relations may have reached “a point of no return.”

Vučić further noted that the decision by former US President Donald Trump to reduce troop levels in Germany could mark the beginning of a prolonged period of tension between Washington and Berlin, potentially reshaping transatlantic dynamics.

He also cautioned that evolving disagreements between the United States and its European allies could have broader implications, including potential adverse effects on Serbia’s economic outlook, political landscape, and business environment.
