- Washington Reaffirms Firm Stance on Nuclear Non-Proliferation as Talks Continue
Washington: The White House has declined to provide details regarding Iran’s latest proposal to the United States, reportedly conveyed through Pakistani mediators, emphasizing its longstanding policy of confidentiality in diplomatic engagements.
“We do not detail private diplomatic conversations,” a White House spokesperson stated in response to media inquiries.
The administration reiterated its firm position on Iran’s nuclear ambitions, underscoring that Tehran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. “President Donald Trump has been clear that Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon, and negotiations continue to ensure the short- and long-term national security of the United States,” spokesperson Anna Kelly told Reuters.
The remarks highlight Washington’s continued focus on diplomatic efforts while maintaining a strict stance on nuclear non-proliferation and regional security.
