Yemen’s Houthis claim new attack on US ship in Red Sea

Yemen’s Shiite Houthi rebels announced this Monday that they attacked a US military ship “on Sunday night” in the Gulf of Aden, in the southern Red Sea, at a time when tension continues. escalating in the Middle East between the United States and Iranian-backed Shiite militias.

“With the help of Almighty God, the naval force of the Yemeni Armed Forces (as the Houthis define themselves) launched on Sunday night a suitable naval missile against a US Navy ship, the Lewis B Puller, while it was sailing in the Gulf of Aden,” said the Houthi military spokesman, Yehya Sarea, on his official account on X.
