UAE Strongly Condemns Attack on Kuwait Consulate in Basra, Reaffirms Commitment to Diplomatic Security

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has issued a strong condemnation of the storming and vandalism of the Consulate General of Kuwait in Basra, describing the incident as a serious violation of diplomatic norms and international law.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs UAE denounced the attack and all accompanying acts of violence, reaffirming the UAE’s firm rejection of such unlawful and destabilizing behavior. The Ministry underscored that the protection of diplomatic missions and personnel is a fundamental obligation under international law.

Upholding International Law and Diplomatic Norms

The UAE emphasized the critical importance of safeguarding diplomatic premises in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees the inviolability of embassies and consulates and ensures the safety of diplomatic staff.
