
- Historic Choral Launch of Qaumi Tarana Strengthens Cultural Diplomacy
Islamabad: The Senate of Pakistan hosted a distinguished cultural and diplomatic gathering, bringing together ambassadors, senators, and dignitaries to mark the official choral launch of Pakistan’s national anthem, Qaumi Tarana, while celebrating the enduring partnership between Pakistan and Romania.

The event commenced with an informal interaction between ambassadors and the Chairman Senate, Yousaf Raza Gillani, setting a cordial tone for an evening dedicated to diplomacy and cultural exchange.
Exhibition Showcases Six Decades of Bilateral Relations
A key feature of the programme was the inauguration of a diplomatic exhibition highlighting over sixty years of Romania–Pakistan relations. The exhibition showcased milestones in political engagement, economic cooperation, and cultural ties between the two countries.
The exhibition was formally inaugurated through a ribbon-cutting ceremony jointly led by Chairman Gillani and Dan Stoenescu. Ambassadors and parliamentarians toured the displays, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening international partnerships and mutual understanding.
Romanian Choir Presents Historic Choral Anthem
A highlight of the event was the performance of Qaumi Tarana in its historic choral arrangement by the renowned Madrigal – Marin Constantin National Chamber Choir. The performance was held during the opening of the Senate’s plenary session in the presence of distinguished guests.
Chairman Gillani recalled that, on the occasion of Pakistan Day, Romania presented Pakistan with the first-ever professional choral arrangement and written score of its national anthem. He described the initiative as a landmark cultural contribution and a symbol of deep-rooted friendship.
A Symbol of Cultural Bridge and Diplomatic Goodwill
The Chairman expressed appreciation to the Romanian authorities for their support in realizing this historic initiative, noting that it serves as a lasting cultural bridge between the two nations. He emphasized that the project reflects shared values of respect, cooperation, and a collective vision for enhanced bilateral relations.
During the plenary session, senators from both treasury and opposition benches also conveyed their gratitude to Romania for this meaningful gesture, underscoring its significance in fostering goodwill and cultural understanding.
