Dubai : The Ministry of Defence (United Arab Emirates) confirmed that four cruise missiles were launched toward the United Arab Emirates from Iran, in what officials described as a serious escalation targeting the country’s security and stability.

According to the ministry, UAE air defence systems successfully intercepted three of the incoming missiles, while the fourth fell into the sea without causing damage. The swift response underscored the country’s high level of preparedness and advanced defensive capabilities.

Rapid Response and Civil Protection Measures

Authorities reported that air defence systems engaged the threats immediately upon detection, with explosions heard across parts of the country attributed to successful interceptions. Residents were advised to move to designated shelters as a precaution, before an all-clear was issued shortly thereafter, reflecting effective crisis management and public safety coordination.

Incident at Fujairah Energy Hub

A fire was reported at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, a strategic facility on the Gulf of Oman that serves as the UAE’s only major port outside the Strait of Hormuz. Emergency teams responded promptly to contain the situation and ensure operational continuity at the critical energy hub.

Maritime Security Concerns

In a related development, Iranian forces reportedly deployed two drones targeting an Emirati commercial vessel, further raising concerns over maritime security and the safety of international shipping lanes in the region.
