Islamabad – A new chapter of hope and opportunity is set to unfold as Pakistan’s street child football team prepares to depart for Mexico this Saturday to participate in the upcoming Street Child Football World Cup. The initiative highlights the transformative role of sports in empowering marginalized youth while showcasing Pakistan’s commitment to social inclusion on a global stage.

Muslim Hands Driving Impact Through Sports Development

The team’s participation marks Pakistan’s fourth appearance in the prestigious international tournament, made possible through the continued support of Muslim Hands in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.

Through this partnership, the initiative goes beyond sports—serving as a platform to advocate for the rights and well-being of street children, including access to education, protection, and equal opportunities.

Empowering Youth Through Structured Engagement

Team Lead Rehan Tahir emphasized the broader vision behind the initiative, describing it as a structured and impactful effort aimed at uplifting underprivileged children. He noted that the program seeks to connect young participants with opportunities at national, regional, and international levels.

“Our goal is to ensure that every child has the right to dream, to play, to education, and to identity,” he stated, underlining the program’s focus on long-term social development.

A Talented Squad Representing the Nation

The 10-member squad, drawn from diverse regions across Pakistan, includes Abdullah, Mubashir Shah, Muhammad Hamad, Nadeem Hussain, Muhammad Mustafa, Muhammad Essa, Shahid Anjum, Muhammad Kashif, Muhammad Bilal, and Muhammad Ibrahim. Each player represents resilience and determination, embodying the spirit of youth striving for a better future.

Building on a Strong International Track Record

Pakistan enters the tournament with an impressive record, having finished as runners-up in previous editions held in Russia and Qatar, and securing third place in Brazil. These achievements have brought international recognition to the country while reinforcing the positive impact of initiatives led by organizations like Muslim Hands.

Strong Support from the Overseas Community

Upon arrival in Mexico, the team will be welcomed by members of the Pakistani diaspora, including Hamza Arshad and Usman Ansari. Their support reflects the unity and encouragement extended by overseas Pakistanis in promoting national talent and social causes.

Promoting Awareness and Lasting Change

Beyond competition, the team’s participation aims to draw global attention to the challenges faced by street children in Pakistan. By leveraging the universal language of football, Muslim Hands continues to play a pivotal role in creating pathways for vulnerable youth, fostering hope, and inspiring lasting change both at home and abroad.
