Casablanca – In yet another powerful demonstration of his deep love for Morocco and his unwavering commitment to the prosperity of his people, His Majesty King Mohammed VI on Thursday inaugurated and visited several landmark projects within the Casablanca Port Complex, a strategic hub for the Kingdom’s economic and tourism development.

Mobilizing an investment of nearly MAD 5 billion, these transformative projects embody the King’s vision to position Casablanca as a modern, international metropolis and a leading economic and financial gateway for the African continent.

The newly inaugurated infrastructures include a state-of-the-art fishing port, a world-class shipyard, a modern cruise terminal, and an administrative complex uniting all port stakeholders. Each project reflects the King’s constant desire to enhance the daily lives of Moroccans, create jobs, and provide opportunities for future generations.

The new fishing port, with an investment of MAD 1.2 billion, was designed with the well-being of fishermen at its heart. It provides improved safety, better working conditions, and modern facilities that will uplift artisanal and coastal fishing communities. Equipped with a next-generation fish market, container management unit, ice production facilities, and a hostel for seafarers, the port illustrates the King’s keen attention to both economic growth and human dignity.

His Majesty also inaugurated the new Casablanca shipyard, a MAD 2.5 billion investment aimed at strengthening Morocco’s shipbuilding and repair industry. With cutting-edge dry docks and advanced infrastructure, this project enhances Morocco’s competitiveness in global maritime markets while creating new avenues of employment for Moroccan youth.

In addition, the King inaugurated the new cruise terminal at the Port of Casablanca, with an annual capacity of 450,000 passengers. Built to international standards, this facility will reinforce Morocco’s standing as a premier tourism destination, offering new opportunities to showcase the Kingdom’s cultural richness and hospitality to visitors from around the world.
