ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has intensified its efforts to combat cybercrime and protect women from online harassment, supported by international cooperation and advanced training programs aimed at strengthening law enforcement capabilities.
According to official sources, a team led by Sub-Inspector Shafqat Ehsan and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Zeeshan Khan arrested four alleged suspects — Rizwan Javed, Imtiaz Iqbal, Awais, and Muhammad Bilal, all residents of Multan — in connection with a cyber harassment and blackmail case.
The action was taken following a complaint lodged by a woman, identified as (Z), a resident of Shah Abbas Road. In her statement to the FIA, she alleged that the accused obtained her objectionable photographs and used them to harass and blackmail her through social media and other online platforms.
The case highlights the growing challenge of cyber-enabled crimes targeting women in Pakistan and underscores the importance of strengthening institutional mechanisms to ensure their protection and access to justice.
The FIA has reaffirmed its commitment to taking strict action against individuals involved in online harassment, blackmail, human trafficking, and other forms of transnational crime, emphasizing that protecting citizens—particularly women and children—remains a top priority.
