54th Anniversary of Bangladesh’s Independence Celebrated in Islamabad with Patriotic Fervor and Diplomatic Camaraderie

Islamabad, April 25, 2025 – The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad hosted a grand reception and dinner at a five-star hotel in the Pakistani capital on Tuesday evening to celebrate Bangladesh’s Independence and National Day. Bangladesh High Commissioner Md. Iqbal Hossain Khan, along with his wife Nahid Raushan, welcomed the guests.

In his speech, he emphasized the importance of strengthening Bangladesh-Pakistan relations through mutual cooperation.

“The aspirations of our peoples must guide us toward deeper collaboration in trade, culture, and regional stability,” he remarked.

Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif, speaking as the chief guest, extended Pakistan’s warm congratulations to Bangladesh on its Independence Day. He praised Bangladesh’s remarkable economic growth and stressed the need to enhance bilateral trade and people-to-people exchanges.

“Our shared history and cultural bonds should pave the way for a future of greater partnership,” he said.

The event was attended by senior Pakistani officials, diplomats, and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora, reflecting the enduring ties between the two nations. Traditional Bangladeshi cuisine served to guests, the event concluded on a festive note, reinforcing friendship and diplomatic goodwill between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
