- Ambassador Yusuf Sharifzoda Visits Major Karachi Technology Forum, Holds Talks with IT Companies, Startups and Government Representatives
KARACHI: Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda participated in the 28th International Exhibition and Forum ITCN Asia 2026, held on September 22–23 at the Karachi Expo Centre, highlighting growing opportunities for cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan in information technology, digital transformation and innovation.
ITCN Asia 2026 brought together a broad cross-section of Pakistan’s technology ecosystem, including government institutions, technology companies, investors, entrepreneurs, startups, industry professionals and international delegations.
The exhibition featured more than 850 exhibition booths and over 3,500 international brands, showcasing developments across a wide range of technology sectors, including information technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, e-commerce, digital transformation and emerging digital services. During his visit, Ambassador Sharifzoda toured various sections of the exhibition and met representatives of Pakistani information technology companies, entrepreneurs, startup founders and other stakeholders from the technology and innovation sector.
The discussions provided an opportunity to exchange views on the development of stronger business and institutional links between the two countries and to explore potential areas for technology partnerships.
Particular attention was given to opportunities for cooperation in information and communication technologies, the digital economy, innovation, entrepreneurship and digital services, as well as the application of modern technologies in different sectors.
Focus on Digital Economy and Innovation
The meetings also explored possibilities for strengthening interaction between technology companies and entrepreneurs from Tajikistan and Pakistan.
The two sides discussed the potential for greater exchange of expertise, business networking and cooperation in digital solutions, with technology and innovation emerging as important areas for expanding bilateral economic engagement.
The growing importance of digital transformation in economic development has created new opportunities for both countries to connect their technology sectors and encourage greater private-sector participation.
Engagement with Pakistani Government Officials
On the sidelines of ITCN Asia 2026, Ambassador Sharifzoda also held meetings with relevant Pakistani government officials responsible for information and information technology.
The discussions focused on prospects for strengthening sector-specific cooperation and exchanged views on opportunities to further develop bilateral engagement in the rapidly evolving technology sector.
The meetings reflected the importance of institutional coordination in creating an enabling environment for technology cooperation, investment and knowledge exchange between Tajikistan and Pakistan.
Embassy Working to Expand Technology Partnerships
The Ambassador’s participation in ITCN Asia 2026 forms part of the continued efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Pakistan to broaden bilateral cooperation beyond traditional areas and promote new avenues of economic and technological partnership.
Information technology, innovation, digital transformation and entrepreneurship are increasingly significant components of modern economic relations, offering opportunities for businesses, startups and technology professionals in both countries.
The participation also provided a platform for Tajikistan to engage directly with Pakistan’s technology ecosystem and explore potential avenues for future cooperation, investment and institutional collaboration.
