ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan H.E. Paulo Domingues paid a courtesy call on Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain at the Ministry, where the two sides discussed prospects for enhanced cooperation in agriculture, food security, irrigation, water management and technical exchanges.
The meeting provided an opportunity to explore new avenues for strengthening bilateral engagement, particularly through cooperation between relevant government institutions, technical bodies and the private sector.
Both sides exchanged views on the potential for greater collaboration in agricultural development and food-security initiatives, including the sharing of technical expertise, knowledge and best practices in irrigation and efficient water management.
The discussions also underscored the importance of expanding institutional and private-sector linkages to promote mutually beneficial economic and technical cooperation between Pakistan and Portugal.
The meeting reflected the shared interest of both countries in developing practical areas of collaboration that can contribute to agricultural productivity, sustainable water management and broader bilateral economic relations.
