Islamabad – Egypt’s net international reserves climbed to an all-time high of nearly $57.2 billion at the end of August 2026, underscoring the country’s strengthening external financial position and continued progress in maintaining economic stability.

According to figures released by the Central Bank of Egypt, net international reserves increased by approximately $921 million during August, representing a 1.6 percent month-on-month rise from the $56.3 billion recorded at the end of July.

Strengthening External Financial Position

The latest increase reflects continued efforts to strengthen Egypt’s foreign-exchange position and reinforce the resilience of the country’s economy.

The record level of international reserves provides an important financial buffer, supporting Egypt’s ability to meet external obligations, maintain confidence in its financial system and respond to global and domestic economic challenges.
