- Deputy Prime Minister Dar and UK Minister Stephen Doughty Discuss Trade, Investment, Climate Cooperation and Regional Stability
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, with senior officials discussing ways to expand cooperation across political, economic, institutional and emerging areas of mutual interest.
The discussions focused on enhancing trade and investment, cooperation in emerging sectors, climate action and cultural exchanges. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of sustained engagement to deepen political and economic linkages.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the valuable contribution of the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom, describing the community as an important bridge between the two countries.
The two sides exchanged views on key regional developments, particularly the situations in the Middle East and Afghanistan, and stressed the importance of dialogue, diplomacy and continued international engagement to promote regional peace and stability.
UK Minister of State Stephen Doughty appreciated Pakistan’s role in supporting regional peace and stability and reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s interest in maintaining close engagement with Islamabad on bilateral and regional issues.
