TEHRAN: The signing of a memorandum aimed at settling the conflict with the United States will not take place on Sunday but could be finalized in the coming days, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Baghaei said that the exact date and timing of the signing would be announced later, adding that while the ceremony would not happen immediately, the possibility of an agreement being concluded soon remains open.

“Information about the exact time of signing the memorandum must wait. Although this will not happen tomorrow, the possibility that it will happen in the coming days is not excluded,” he said.

The statement comes after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif earlier said that the agreement could be finalized within the next 24 hours, raising expectations of a potential diplomatic breakthrough.

Officials have not provided further details about the memorandum or its implementation timeline, but discussions continue amid efforts to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington.
