WASHINGTON – The administration of the United States has signaled its intention to grant Persian Gulf allies access to Iranian assets as a means of compensation for any damage Tehran may inflict upon them, according to a report by Reuters citing anonymous sources.

“The United States will make Iranian assets available to Gulf allies to support rebuilding and repairs for future damage caused by Iran,” the news agency reported, quoting its sources.

In addition to prospective damages, Reuters indicated that the U.S. is also prepared to consider using those same assets to fund repairs or compensation for past harm. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has reportedly directed a team to evaluate the costs associated with damage already sustained by Gulf allies from Iranian actions.
