LUGANSK, May 28 – Russian military forces have commenced the creation of a buffer zone in the Kharkiv Region along the border with Russia’s Belgorod Region, according to military expert Andrey Marochko in comments to TASS.
“The Veterinarnoye–Granov section currently represents the initial stage of establishing a buffer zone in this area. This is fully aligned with the tasks set by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief [Vladimir Putin] regarding the creation of a security zone for Russian citizens residing in this region,” Marochko stated.
On Wednesday, the Russian Defense Ministry officially reported that Russian forces had taken control of the settlement of Granov in the Kharkiv Region.
