
Islamabad – A high-level delegation from the Australian High Commission visited the headquarters of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and held detailed discussions with Director General FIA Dr. Usman Anwar and senior FIA officials on enhancing bilateral cooperation in combating terrorism and transnational crime.

During the meeting, DG FIA Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted the agency’s ongoing efforts against terrorism, human trafficking, migrant smuggling, financial crimes, cyber-related offenses, and other forms of transnational organized crime. He stressed that strong international partnerships, timely intelligence sharing, and coordinated operational strategies are vital to addressing evolving global security challenges.
Dr. Anwar reaffirmed the FIA’s commitment to further strengthening professional collaboration with international law enforcement agencies, particularly Australian authorities, through enhanced information exchange, technological cooperation, and institutional capacity building.
Both sides also explored opportunities to deepen cooperation through specialized training initiatives, technical assistance programs, and the sharing of best practices aimed at improving investigative capabilities and reinforcing counterterrorism frameworks.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to expanding bilateral engagement and promoting stronger international coordination to effectively combat organized and transnational crime networks.
