Rabat – According to FIFA, Morocco has become the first team in 42 years to defeat Argentina in a U20 World Cup final. The last time Argentina lost a final was in 1983, when Brazil – led by stars like Jorginho, Dunga, Giovanni, and Bebeto – claimed victory in Mexico.

Since then, Argentina has won in finals against Brazil, Uruguay, Ghana, Nigeria, and the Czech Republic. But Morocco broke that streak, securing the world title with a commanding 2–0 win.

Yassir Zabiri scored both goals in the first half: one from a free kick and another on the counter. Morocco’s defense stayed compact, and the midfield controlled the tempo. Argentina had more possession, but Morocco’s tactical setup and team spirit made the difference.

This is Morocco’s first-ever FIFA World Cup title at any level. It’s also the first time an Arab country has won this tournament, and only the second time an African nation has done so after Ghana in 2009.

This victory is the result of years of investment and planning by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). The federation focused on youth academies, infrastructure, and coaching development.

The Mohammed VI Football Academy played a key role in producing top talent, many of whom featured in this tournament.
