Romanian Ambassador Meets Defence Minister to Celebrate 60 Years of Diplomatic Ties, Paves Way for Deeper Defence Cooperation

ISLAMABAD, September 4, 2025 — Marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations, H.E. Mr. Dan Stoenescu, Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, called on Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, in Islamabad today to commemorate 60 years of Pakistan-Romania diplomatic relations.

The meeting underscored the enduring friendship between the two nations, with a renewed commitment to expanding defence cooperation, regional peace, and strategic understanding.

Minister Asif hailed Romania as a valued and trusted partner within the European Union, recognizing the country’s contributions to multilateral military initiatives and regional peace efforts. He especially appreciated Romania’s participation in multinational military exercises hosted by Pakistan, describing it as a testament to the shared commitment to security and global peace.
