RABAT, August 20, 2025 — His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s renewed directive to send additional humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza has been hailed by international leaders as a beacon of compassion and principled leadership in a time of immense regional hardship.
British Member of Parliament and former Secretary of State at the UK Foreign Office, Andrew Morrison, commended the royal initiative as “a noble and generous gesture that charts the way to be followed” to alleviate the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to the Maghreb Arab Press (MAP), Mr. Morrison emphasized that “His Majesty the King is an inspiring leader, and his initiatives remain a source of hope in the region.” He noted that Morocco’s steadfast commitment to providing urgent humanitarian assistance, even in complex and volatile circumstances, reflects “the uniqueness of the royal work and the credibility of His Majesty’s commitment.”
The latest wave of aid is part of a broader humanitarian effort personally overseen by King Mohammed VI in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, a position underscoring his unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and his long-standing advocacy for peace and stability in the region.
According to a statement from Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, the aid — like its previous rounds — will be delivered via Moroccan aircraft and distributed urgently and directly to Palestinian civilians in need.
“This humanitarian effort is a reflection of Morocco’s enduring solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people, and a reaffirmation of His Majesty the King’s active commitment to justice and human dignity,” the Ministry said.
Mr. Morrison added that the international community should take note of Morocco’s leadership in humanitarian diplomacy, stressing that “the noble humanitarian work led by His Majesty the King will encourage other countries to follow His Majesty’s example.”
As global conflicts continue to place innocent lives at risk, King Mohammed VI’s action-oriented compassion serves not only as a practical lifeline to those in need, but also as a moral compass guiding responsible international engagement.
