Pakistan, Bangladesh Reaffirm Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Islamabad – The Prime Minister of Pakistan today received the High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, H.E. Mr. Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, for a courtesy call, reaffirming the mutual commitment of both countries to deepen their historic ties.

Welcoming the High Commissioner, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the growing engagement between Pakistan and Bangladesh across political, economic, and cultural domains. Recalling his warm and productive exchanges with H.E. Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of Bangladesh — including their meeting last December in Cairo on the sidelines of the D-8 Summit — he noted with appreciation the revival of various bilateral mechanisms and underlined the importance of sustaining this positive momentum.

Highlighting Pakistan’s keen interest in enhancing trade, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges, the Prime Minister emphasized that closer cooperation would bring mutual benefit and further strengthen the friendship between the two nations.

The Bangladesh High Commissioner, while acknowledging the leadership’s shared vision for stronger ties, briefed the Prime Minister on measures being taken to facilitate travel, trade, and connectivity. He reiterated his determination to work tirelessly for the advancement of relations between the two brotherly countries.

The Prime Minister assured the High Commissioner of his government’s full support in the discharge of his duties, and expressed confidence that his tenure would be marked by continued progress and positive developments in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations.
