ISLAMABAD – In a moving celebration of determination, national pride, and the power of opportunity, the Pakistan Street Child Football Team visited the Prime Minister’s Office today ahead of their departure for the prestigious Norway Cup and a forthcoming tour in the United Kingdom.
The young footballers — many of whom have risen from deeply underprivileged backgrounds — were warmly welcomed by government officials, coaches, and supporters. Their inspiring journey from the streets to international football arenas has been made possible through the unwavering support of Muslim Hands, a charitable organization dedicated to uplifting vulnerable communities through education, sports, and social welfare.
“This team represents more than just athletic skill — they are symbols of hope and resilience,” said Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, during the ceremony. “Thanks to organizations like Muslim Hands, these youth have transformed adversity into achievement. They are Pakistan’s pride.”
Muslim Hands has played a pivotal role in nurturing the team’s talent, providing coaching, mentoring, and life-changing opportunities that empower youth to break the cycle of poverty. The organization’s investment in inclusive sports initiatives has enabled these young players to shine on both national and international stages.
The Youth Affairs Wing of the Prime Minister’s Office reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive development through sports under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, emphasizing the transformative power of such initiatives for mental health, community integration, and global representation.
Officials from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat praised Muslim Hands for its critical role in supporting marginalized youth and acknowledged the importance of continued collaboration between the government and civil society organizations to ensure an equitable and thriving Pakistan.
The visit concluded with heartfelt speeches, group photographs, and the presentation of souvenirs. As the Street Child Football Team embarks on their international journey, they carry with them the hopes of a nation — and the steadfast support of both their communities and the state.
Muslim Hands remains deeply committed to empowering Pakistan’s youth, proving that with care, opportunity, and belief, even the most vulnerable can achieve greatness.
