BEIJING – China deployed a next-generation communication technology test satellite into orbit on Tuesday, following a successful launch from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan Province.
The satellite lifted off at 10:10 a.m. Beijing Time atop a modified variant of the Long March-7 carrier rocket and was subsequently delivered into its designated orbit without incident.
Designed to support a broad spectrum of applications, the satellite will primarily serve in satellite communications, broadcasting and television relay, and high-speed data transmission, while also enabling validation trials for emerging space-based technologies.
This mission represents the 653rd flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles, underscoring the continued maturity and reliability of China’s indigenous space transportation infrastructure.
