HOMEPOINT Rwanda Unveils Landmark Showroom in Kigali, Expanding Access to World-Class Home Appliances
Kigali, Rwanda – In a bold step reflecting Rwanda’s growing consumer market and rising demand for quality home appliances, HOTPOINT Appliances Rwanda Ltd officially inaugurated its newest and largest retail showroom in Kicukiro, Kigali, on July 9, 2025. Operating under its new retail identity HOMEPOINT, the launch marks a significant milestone in Rwanda’s retail and electronics landscape.
Strategically situated on KK15 Road (Sonatube – Bugesera Road), the state-of-the-art showroom is designed to elevate the shopping experience for Rwandan consumers. The grand opening ceremony drew a high-profile audience, including dignitaries, diplomats, and local business leaders. Ambassador Professor Charity MANYERUKE from the Embassy of Zimbabwe in Rwanda was the Guest of Honour and performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mr. Avinash Rao, 2nd Secretary from the Indian High Commission in Kigali, was also in attendance.

“This is one of the largest and most modern electronics showrooms in the country,” said Murli Menon, CEO of HOTPOINT Appliances Rwanda Ltd. “This move reflects our continued commitment to meet the needs of Rwandans who are increasingly looking for affordable, durable, and quality products.”
The Kicukiro showroom replaces HOTPOINT’s previous location opposite Silverback Mall and responds directly to growing public demand. It features the latest in televisions, kitchen appliances, built-in electronics, sound systems, and more from global brands such as LG, Samsung, Bosch, Philips, Kenwood, Delonghi, Braun, Hisense, VON, Black and Decker, and many others. New international brands like HAIER and Brabantia are also expected to be introduced soon.

According to Product Manager Console Nshimiyimana, what sets HOMEPOINT apart is not only the range of reputable brands but also their strong focus on post-purchase service and product longevity. “We guarantee high-quality and long-lasting appliances, with after-sales service that ensures peace of mind — a promise few in the market can match,” he stated.
Since its humble beginnings in 2010 with just two employees, HOTPOINT Rwanda has grown into a leading player in the consumer electronics sector, now employing over 30 staff. The company is recognized not only for its retail innovation but also for its contribution to national development. HOTPOINT regularly provides internships to local students, especially from IPRC, and donates equipment to technical education labs.

In another first for Rwanda, HOTPOINT has introduced revolutionary retail-finance initiatives to empower more citizens to access premium products. These include the RyoshyaIwawe (Improve Your Home) interest-free loan program in partnership with I&M Bank, and the TUNGA TUNGA “Buy Now, Pay Later” scheme offering 0% interest for up to four months — a game-changer for household affordability.
Looking ahead, HOTPOINT Rwanda is set to enter the luxury outdoor living space with a partnership with the UK-based Absolute Pools. This collaboration will introduce pre-formed, easy-to-install swimming pools designed for both homes and commercial properties, making luxury living more accessible and affordable across Rwanda.
With this expansion, HOMEPOINT continues to position itself as a pillar of Rwanda’s economic transformation — showcasing the country’s readiness for global brands and innovation, while delivering real value to local consumers.
