Islamabad – In a significant milestone for Uzbekistan-Pakistan bilateral relations, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Alisher Tukhtayev , has been widely commended for his proactive and visionary diplomacy, which continues to play a pivotal role in deepening strategic cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

Under Ambassador AliSher’s leadership, diplomatic ties have advanced substantially, with notable progress in trade, tourism, transport, and people-to-people connectivity. One of the most recent and tangible outcomes of this growing partnership is the expansion of air connectivity between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, spearheaded by Uzbekistan Airways.
Starting from 28 October 2025, Uzbekistan Airways will double the frequency of its “Tashkent-Islamabad-Tashkent” flights, increasing service from once a week to twice weekly. This move comes in response to sustained high demand, with flights operating at full capacity and tickets frequently sold out in advance.
Currently, the airline operates:
- Twice weekly flights on the “Tashkent-Lahore-Tashkent” route (Wednesdays and Fridays)
- Once weekly flights on the “Tashkent-Islamabad-Tashkent” route (Saturdays)
The enhanced schedule is expected to deliver substantial benefits for bilateral cooperation, facilitating smoother travel for business communities, tourists, and students alike. More frequent flights will also bolster trade ties, encourage joint ventures, and enable regular cultural and academic exchanges.
This expansion reflects a broader strategic vision shared by both nations – to transform regional connectivity, enhance economic integration, and build resilient, future-focused partnerships.
Ambassador AliSher’s active engagement with Pakistani officials and business leaders has been instrumental in driving this momentum. His tireless efforts to strengthen air connectivity and promote Uzbekistan’s role as a transit hub have opened new opportunities not only for bilateral travel but also for international transit passengers. Tashkent International Airport, a key node in Central Asia, now offers convenient onward connections to Europe, North America, and Asia – making Uzbekistan Airways an increasingly attractive option for global travelers from Pakistan.
The increase in flight frequency stands as a symbol of the growing Uzbekistan-Pakistan partnership – a relationship founded on mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to building bridges between their peoples.
As Uzbekistan and Pakistan continue to elevate their cooperation across multiple sectors, the role of effective diplomacy—exemplified by Ambassador Ali Sher—remains central to shaping a more interconnected and prosperous regional future.
