MOSCOW — The United Russia party is leading the country’s parliamentary elections with 57.87% of the vote, according to data from the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC), based on 50.03% of ballots counted. According to early election results, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) holds the second position with 13.79% of the vote. The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) follows with 8.80%, while the New People party has secured 7.86%. A Just Russia rounds out the parties poised to enter the State Duma, the lower chamber of parliament, with 5.11% of the vote.
Path to the State Duma
The preliminary figures indicate that all five parties have surpassed the threshold required to secure representation in the State Duma, positioning them to enter the lower chamber of parliament.
