The Martyrs of Al Aqsa hospital, in central Gaza, today received 73 dead and almost 100 wounded, while the Israeli Army continues with intense bombing and fighting in the central and southern area of ​​the Strip.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa has reported several attacks with victims in those areas, including a bombing that this morning killed eight people and injured dozens of others in a house in Deir Balah.

In addition, “an Israeli Army drone opened fire towards the courtyard of the European Hospital in Gaza, southeast of Khan Younis,” and fighter jets “bombed buildings of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology” of the university center of the city and the countryside. of Al Maghazi refugees”, in the center of the enclave. 

Unicef ​​warns of serious child malnutrition

With regard to the situation of children, UNICEF, the United Nations children’s agency, confirmed through a field evaluation carried out at the end of December, that 90% of children under two years of age consumed barely any type of cereal (including bread) or milk.

In parallel, cases of diarrhea in children under five years of age increased to 3,200 new cases per day, compared to an average of 2,000 cases per month before the war.

“Time is running out. Many children already suffer from severe acute malnutrition in Gaza. As the threat of famine intensifies, hundreds of thousands more young children could soon suffer from severe malnutrition, and some of them could die. “We cannot allow that to happen,” said UNICEF.

Hezbollah commander killed by Israeli bombing

In Lebanon, a commander of the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah was killed today in the bombing of an Israeli drone against the vehicle in which he was traveling in the Khirbet al Salam area, in the south of the country, in which at least one other passenger was also killed, according to various sources.
