Islamabad – Ambassador of Sweden to Pakistan, H.E. Ms. Alex Berg von Linde, reaffirmed Sweden’s commitment to empowering local humanitarian actors, emphasizing that strong local leadership is the cornerstone of lasting change.

The Ambassador made these remarks while attending the opening ceremony of a two-day Capacity Building Workshop, organized by Action Against Hunger (ACF) Pakistan with the support of the Government of Sweden. The workshop aims to enhance the skills, coordination, and leadership capacity of local humanitarian partners working across Pakistan.

In her address, Ambassador Alex Berg von Linde highlighted the power of local action and the critical role of investing in local expertise to effectively respond to humanitarian crises and promote sustainable development. She noted that locally-led responses are more resilient, inclusive, and impactful, ensuring that communities play a central role in shaping their own futures.

“Building local capacity is not only about delivering aid—it’s about empowering people to lead and sustain change within their own communities,” the Ambassador remarked.

Through its ongoing partnership with organizations like ACF, Sweden continues to champion localization efforts, supporting initiatives that strengthen community resilience, gender equality, and long-term development outcomes.

The collaboration reflects Sweden’s broader commitment to a more sustainable, community-driven humanitarian response in Pakistan—one that ensures national and local partners are equipped to respond effectively to emerging challenges and contribute to lasting peace and prosperity.
